Dehydration is a state in which the fluid and electrolytes of the body get imbalanced. Hydration is a word that defines the stability of fluid and electrolytes of the body.

Humidity or summer can easily make us dehydrated as our body’s most of the fluid can get eliminated through sweat and urine. The loss of fluid and electrolyte level will make blood flow difficult to the body parts. This will make us feel dizzy and weak. Severe dehydration can result in less blood flow to the organs including the brain that will lead to shock or death of a person.

Here are some drinks and fruits that will help you to stay away from dehydration this summer.

Coconut water- coconut water is the best source of energy which is helpful to maintain the fluid and electrolyte level of the body. Drink the delicious coconut water and stay healthy.

Lemon juice- Lemon juice is simply delicious and fluid with maximum vitamins and minerals in it. It is the best and simplest form of drink that is helpful in summer.

Curd/yogurt- Yogurt and curd are the best way to keep yourself hydrated and cool in summer. You can make a sweet curd shake that is lassi or can make a sour shake that is called chach and enjoy the delicious drinks and get a healthy body.

Water- Do not forget to keep your water bottle with you in summer. Drink plenty of water sip by sip in between to stay hydrated.

Sugarcane juice- Sugarcane juice is another delicious drink to get hydrated in summer and get all the nutritious benefits of sugarcane.

Fruits and vegetables- You can enjoy cucumber, watermelon, mango, muskmelon, orange, and banana in summer. You can also add onions, tomatoes, cucumber to your salad. These are filled with enough water in them that will help you to stay hydrated this summer.

Fruit juices- You can eat fruit as a whole or can also enjoy the juices like coconut water, mango juice, orange juice, pineapple juice and can stay hydrated and healthy.

A. You can drink ORS (oral rehydration solution) to stay hydrated in summer. Most importantly, you can add fruits and vegetables, curd to your diet, and can drink various drinks I had mentioned above.

Q. Can hot weather cause dehydration?

A. Hot weather or humidity causes dehydration as the body releases more sweat in this weather to maintain a normal body temperature. Therefore, the Elimination of fluids of the body through sweat can cause dehydration.

Dehydration is very common in hot weather or summer. Therefore, To stay hydrated and cool this summer eat and drink well.
